PSB Speakers

PSB Speakers is a Canadian loudspeaker company established in 1972 by Paul Barton. The company is named after Barton and his wife Sue. The company is headquartered in Pickering, Ontario and is now part of the Lenbrook Group. PSB Speakers creates many lines of speakers from the high end Platinum series to the admission level Alpha series. Their speakers are very well appreciated by audiophiles who favor a flat incidence response curve. Over the past 30 years, PSB has earned a standing for building high-performance, value-oriented speakers. The Platinum Series stands for a conclusion of past design labors and an unlimited approach to designing the total best speaker money can buy. For the first time in our history we have shaped a speaker where cost was no object.

Today the Platinum Series have lifted the bar for high-end audio presentation standards while remaining cost effectual. This is attained through a subjective and scientific, no-nonsense move toward to design and an undying promise at PSB to deliver supreme performance at an outstanding value. The end result is a truly rewarding listening experience. Sacrificing space doesn’t mean sacrificing sound with PSB’s new line of high-performance, in-wall speakers. In the spirit of lifestyle media systems and clutter-free living spaces, PSB initiated a line of speakers developed from our customary loudspeakers so that there is no loss in performance, while still remaining value leaning. The CW Series in-walls slot in the same speaker arrays as found in our highly praised Platinum Series speakers to offer true audiophile performance…and that’s only the beginning.

Each in-wall speaker is hand-built and backed by PSB’s promise to audio fineness. In-wall speakers don't mechanically sound their best, and simple adaptation of out-in-the-room designs is unlikely to bring fully satisfying presentation under varying conditions. All PSB speaker models have matching woofers and tweeters to promise tumbrel balance in different configurations. In-wall Home Theater needs direct emission from surround speakers, rather than the dipole pattern that produces reflected sound from surrounds. With nothing to mask any tumbrel differences, it's very significant to get tumbrel balance right. Which is why Paul Barton exhausted many hours at the NRC on the issue? You will be grateful for the work. Totally meant for stand-mounting (we offer matching stands that can be filled with sand if you like for maximal non-resonance), it is almost certainly the best version ever of a truly full-range speaker with an almost-disappearing cabinet. What its field size gives is a mixture of hardness for minimum timbre and a small surface to avoid surplus diffraction effects. The latter is a major reason why detractors keep citing its excellent sound staging and imaging. PSB speakers are with no trouble available in all over the world at sensible prices. PSB speakers are very high quality audio output devices and very cost effectual. You can also buy PSB speakers from online stores at lower prices.
